Hey there, Pune folks! It looks like cybercriminals are on the prowl again, this time targeting unsuspecting individuals with promises of lucrative investment opportunities. Three people have fallen victim to this scam, losing a whopping Rs 77 lakh in total.

Cases have been registered at the Khadak, Airport, and Kondhwa Police Stations, highlighting the widespread nature of these fraudulent activities. It seems like these scammers have been preying on people’s desire to make quick money through stock market investments.

One young man from Manjari was recently duped out of Rs 13.07 lakh after being contacted by cybercriminals who promised high returns on his investment. Despite his initial trust, the fraudsters refused to return his money, prompting him to report the incident to the Khadak Police Station.

Similarly, a businessman from Lohegaon was conned out of a staggering Rs 47.68 lakh, while another resident from Kondhwa lost Rs 16.84 lakh in a similar investment scam. The Airport and Kondhwa Police Stations are actively investigating these cases, led by Police Inspectors Gaud, Panhale, and Bendre respectively.

It’s a stark reminder to always be cautious when it comes to financial transactions and investments, especially when dealing with unknown individuals or entities. Stay alert, Pune, and don’t let yourself fall victim to these deceitful schemes!
