Hey Pune folks, get ready for some major changes coming your way! The demolition of the Sadhu Vaswani flyover near Pune station is set to kick off on Monday. This flyover, which has been around for over 50 years, is being torn down due to safety concerns and will be replaced with a new railway flyover.

The cost of this project is estimated to be around Rs 83 crore, so you know it’s going to be a big deal. The municipal corporation has already started the demolition process, and the Railway Department has given the green light for the work to begin. The new bridge will be 54 meters long and will be built using the ‘open web girder’ method.

But wait, there’s more! The residents of the slums near the flyover will also be relocated to Hadapsar. Around 60 slum dwellers will be moved to a new location, while the remaining 40 to 50 will have a week to vacate the area. If they refuse to leave, forced relocation may be considered.

So, Puneites, get ready for some traffic disruptions and changes in your neighborhood. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development in your city!
