Pune District Collector, Jitendra Dudi, is on a mission to expedite land acquisition for crucial infrastructure projects in the region. With a background in successful initiatives in Sangli and Satara, Dudi is focused on addressing challenges and pushing forward with development plans in Pune.
Here are some key focus areas for Dudi’s development agenda:
1. Speeding Up Land Acquisition: Dudi is determined to review and resolve any bottlenecks in the land acquisition process for major projects like the Pune ring road, Metro, and Purandar airport.
2. Education and Health Initiatives: Following his success in implementing model schools and smart health centers in Sangli and Satara, Dudi plans to replicate these programs in Pune to improve education and healthcare services.
3. Tourism Development: Dudi is keen on advancing the integrated tourism development project for Pune, taking into account the unique geography of the region and consulting with stakeholders for input.
In terms of progress, the Pune ring road project is a top priority for the district. With a deadline set for May 2027, the ring road will enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion within the city. The project requires a total of 207 hectares of land, impacting villages across four talukas in the eastern phase and three talukas in the western phase.
Outgoing District Collector Suhas Diwase had set a target for completing the final phase of land acquisition by December-end. Contractors have been finalized, and construction is set to begin this month.
The ring road project is expected to benefit residents across 83 villages by improving connectivity with inter-district highways and reducing urban traffic congestion.
Looking ahead, Dudi plans to conduct regular reviews of infrastructure projects, seek innovative solutions for land acquisition, and engage with local stakeholders for transparent and efficient implementation. By prioritizing infrastructure development, Dudi aims to drive significant advancements in Pune’s overall development.
