The much-awaited Palkhi processions of Jagatguru Sant Tukaram and Santshreshta Dnyaneshwar Maharaj are set to begin soon, with Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi leaving on 28th June and Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi departing on 29th June, both heading towards Pandharpur.

Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has announced a dry day for the Palkhi processions to ensure the safety and security of the devotees. The police have been instructed to close off areas where illegal gatherings may occur and to secure the routes through which the processions will pass.

The Palkhi procession of Tukaram Maharaj will start from Dehu Gaon on 28th June and will have halts at Inamdar Saheb Wada, Vitthal Mandir in Akurdi, and Shri Nivdunga Vitthal Mandir in Nana Peth. Each halt will have a designated dry day to maintain order and discipline.

The journey of the Palkhi will continue through various locations such as Loni Kalbhor, Yawat, Varvand, Undawadi, Baramati, Sansar, Anthurne, Nimgaon Ketki, Indapur, and Sarati, with dry days scheduled accordingly. The Palkhi will also stop at Gandhi Wada in Alandi, Palkhi Vithoba Mandir in Bhawani Peth, and other places before entering Satara district.
