Hey Pune folks, here’s some good news for you! Dr. Suhas Diwase, the Pune District Collector and District Election Officer, has come to your rescue by ensuring that you have ample time to cast your vote in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections on 20th November 2024.

The Maharashtra State Government has granted leave to all officers, employees, and workers under the Industries, Energy, and Labour Department on polling day. This means that you don’t have to worry about missing out on voting just because you have to work that day.

The Department of Industries, Energy, and Labour has made it clear that workers, officials, and employees who are voters in the polling area should be given enough leave to exercise their right to vote, even if they are working outside their constituencies. This rule applies to all establishments, from factories and offices to eateries and malls.

In case it’s not possible to give a full day off, workers can still get a concession of two to three hours to go and vote. But remember, you need to get prior permission from the Collector and District Election Officer for this. The important thing is that everyone should get a fair chance to cast their vote.

If any establishment fails to provide enough leave or concessions to their employees, they may face consequences. So, make sure you speak up if you’re not given the time you need to vote. Let’s all do our part in making sure everyone’s voice is heard in the upcoming elections.
