As the city of Pune braces for heavy rainfall and severe weather conditions, District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has taken proactive measures to ensure public safety. In a recent announcement, Dr. Diwase has ordered the closure of all tourist spots in the district for the next 48 hours.
The decision, made in consultation with local authorities, comes as a precautionary measure to prevent any mishaps due to the expected adverse weather. In addition to the closure of tourist places, the Collector has also banned visitors from accessing dangerous areas such as hazardous streams and drains.
Traffic restrictions have been put in place as well, with bridges deemed unsafe being closed to traffic. These directives aim to protect residents and tourists alike as heavy rains continue to pummel the region.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been directed to implement necessary precautionary measures along riverside areas to further ensure public safety. The district disaster management system has been activated, with relief and rescue teams on high alert.
Residents are urged to cooperate with the administration and avoid venturing into risky areas during this period. Stay safe, Pune!
