Pune gears up for the upcoming assembly elections with a total of 8,417 polling stations designated across the district. However, 38 polling stations in remote areas face communication challenges. Deputy Collector Shama Pawar has called on telecom companies to provide network services to ensure smooth voting operations. A meeting at the collector’s office included representatives from telecom service providers and District Information Officer Dr. Ravindra Thakur. Pawar emphasized the importance of active communication services for the polling process and urged companies to verify network availability at remote polling stations. Dr. Thakur highlighted the need for proper certification of bulk communications used in election campaigns to prevent the dissemination of unauthenticated content. Cooperation from telecom companies is crucial to support the district’s communication needs during the elections.
