So, here’s the scoop on the upcoming elections in Pune district! With a total of 21 constituencies, including those in Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and rural areas, the district is gearing up for a smooth polling process.
But here’s the twist – 37 out of the 8,462 polling stations in Bhor, Khed Alandi, and Ambegaon constituencies are facing a bit of a communication challenge. To tackle this issue, each polling station will have two runners on standby. One will hold down the fort at the station, while the other will dash off to a spot with better mobile connectivity to relay important updates via phone.
These runners are key players in ensuring that critical information and instructions are passed on smoothly throughout the day. Hourly updates will be shared from the polling stations, with data being collected by the runner and then transmitted to the designated point for further dissemination. And just to add a bit of flair, local police patils and kotwals have been roped in as the trusty runners.
The goal here is to make sure that even voters in the most remote areas can cast their votes without any hiccups. By keeping the lines of communication open, election officials can stay on top of things and ensure that the polling process runs like a well-oiled machine. So, here’s to a seamless and efficient election day in Pune district!
