Hey there folks! It’s time for a quick update on the recent National Lok Adalats in Pune district. The numbers are in, and it looks like Pune is leading the way in resolving a variety of cases. Let’s break it down for you:

1. Bank Loan Recovery: A total of 8,819 cases were addressed during the event.

2. Compoundable Criminal Cases: A whopping 31,537 cases were resolved.

3. Electricity Bill Disputes: 329 cases were successfully settled.

4. Labor Disputes: 18 cases were tackled.

5. Land Acquisition Cases: 111 cases found resolutions.

6. Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Cases: 163 cases were settled.

7. Matrimonial Disputes: 74 cases were sorted out.

8. Negotiable Instruments Act Cases: 1,994 cases were addressed.

9. Other Civil Cases: 514 cases were resolved.

10. Other Cases: A total of 2,673 cases were taken care of.

11. Revenue Cases: 7,731 cases were included in the settlement.

12. Water Tax Disputes: An impressive 84,860 cases were resolved.

13. Consumer Disputes: Only 2 cases were reported.

Out of 97,644 pending cases, a remarkable 38,570 cases were resolved during the Lok Adalats. This resulted in a recovery of ₹320.68 crore in settlement fees. Additionally, out of 2,42,987 pre-litigation claims, 1,255 cases were resolved, recovering ₹256.70 crore in settlement fees. In total, a whopping ₹577.39 crore was recovered from 1,38,825 resolved cases.

The success of this initiative was a result of the combined efforts of court officials, police departments, municipal corporations, various government agencies, and of course, the citizens. Smt. Sonal Patil, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, shared this information with the public.
