In a move to clean up the voter lists in Pune district, the district administration has announced plans to remove duplicate names, deceased voters, and update records of those who have relocated. District Collector Jitendra Dudi emphasized the importance of transparency in this process.

To ensure the accuracy of the voter lists, Booth-level officers (BLOs) will verify and consolidate the information to eliminate any instances of multiple listings for one voter. The administration will also be gathering death records from various local authorities to update the lists with information on deceased voters.

In order to account for voters who have permanently relocated, a survey will be conducted by BLOs to identify and remove their names from the lists. Dudi highlighted the importance of providing proper training to BLOs to carry out these tasks effectively.

Overall, the administration’s efforts aim to streamline the voter lists and ensure that they reflect the most up-to-date and accurate information for the upcoming elections.
