Hey Pune peeps, exciting news coming your way! The Pune-Miraj doubling project is almost complete, with a whopping 230 kilometers already commissioned out of the total 280 kilometers. And guess what? On 23rd October 2024, a major milestone will be reached as the 22-kilometer section between Shirwade and Karad-Shenoli is all set to be up and running.
Manoj Arora, the Commissioner of Railway Safety for the Central Circle, will be doing a thorough inspection of this newly completed section. The inspection is no joke, starting bright and early at 9:00 AM and wrapping up around 4:00 PM, with a motor trolley inspection from Shenoli to Shirwade on the agenda.
And that’s not all – a speed trial will also be conducted at a lightning-fast 130 km/h from Shirwade to Shenoli. Once everything checks out in terms of safety, the Commissioner of Railway Safety will give the green light for passenger traffic to start rolling through.
Joining Arora on this inspection will be Avanish Pandey, the Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) of Central Railway, and Pune’s very own Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Indu Dubey. They’ll be accompanied by officials from the construction organization of Central Railway and the Pune Division, making sure everything is in top-notch shape.
With trains slated to start running on the new down line from 23rd October 2024, it’s crucial for all residents in the vicinity to steer clear of the railway tracks for their own safety. Let’s all do our part to make sure this exciting new development goes off without a hitch!
