With board exams around the corner, 10th and 12th-grade students in Maharashtra are gearing up for a busy schedule. The exams for 12th graders are scheduled to start on February 11, with practical exams kicking off on January 24. For 10th graders, the written exams will begin on February 21, followed by practical and oral exams starting on February 3. This means that students will have to utilize their Diwali break to prepare and study for these crucial board exams.

In some positive news for travelers, the State Transport (ST) Corporation has announced that there will be no fare hike for Diwali travel. This decision will allow passengers to travel at regular fares during the festive season. Additionally, the corporation has introduced the “Women’s Honor Scheme,” which offers a 50% discount to women passengers. Senior citizens in the Amrut Senior category will receive a 100% discount, while other senior citizens will get a 50% discount on their fares.

To accommodate the increased demand during the Diwali season, the Solapur division has organized special bus services. A total of 337 additional buses will be operating from Swargate in Pune to various destinations, including Solapur and other cities. These extra services will ensure that passengers have convenient travel options during the festive period. Specific routes such as Pune-Solapur, Solapur-Latur, Pandharpur-Parli, Akluj-Latur, and Sangola-Ahilyanagar will have additional buses running to cater to the holiday rush.

With these updates, students and travelers in Maharashtra can now plan their schedules accordingly for the upcoming board exams and Diwali festivities without worrying about fare hikes or transportation issues.
