Hey Pune folks, here’s some news for you! The FDA Pune Office has been busy during the Ganeshotsav period, conducting a whopping 101 inspections of food establishments in the Pune Division. They didn’t stop there – a total of 117 samples were collected, including milk, khawa, paneer, sweet mawa/khoya, ghee, butter, and savory snacks.

In Pune city alone, items worth ₹9,19,520 were seized! And across Pune district and division, the total seizure amounted to a whopping ₹14,35,958. That’s a lot of confiscated goods!

The administration didn’t waste any time – upon receiving the analysis report of the seized samples, they took legal action against suspected adulterated food items. A total stock of food items, including cow ghee, adulterated butter, sweet khoya, and more, worth over ₹5.16 lakh was seized during this period.

All Assistant Commissioners and Food Safety Officers were on the case, under the guidance of the Joint Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, Pune, and the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Mumbai. They were not messing around!
