Hey Pune folks, brace yourselves for some increased water flow from the dams! The Khadakwasla Dam spillway is set to release more water into the Mutha River basin, with the discharge rate going up from 29,414 cusecs to 35,002 cusecs. And that’s not all – the Warasgaon Dam and Panshet Dam are also increasing their water release, so be prepared for a lot of water coming your way.

The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and may make further adjustments based on the weather conditions and rainfall intensity. With heavy rainfall in the catchment area and rising water levels in the dams, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

In response to the red alert in Pune district, two teams of NDRF have been deployed in Balewadi and Chinchwad, ready to assist in case of any emergencies. The dam status as of 6 am shows that the water levels are already quite high, so it’s important to stay informed and take necessary precautions.

Overall, the total storage in the four dams is at 92.58% of their total capacity, a significant increase from last year. Let’s hope that the authorities can manage the situation effectively and prevent any potential flooding risks. Stay safe, Pune!
