Hey Pune folks, have you noticed the flooding on the streets lately? Well, turns out housing societies are to blame for concretising their internal premises, causing rainwater to flow outside and create chaos in the city. According to Rajendra Bhosale, digging ditches in societies is the way to go to prevent this from happening.
The civic administration didn’t hold back in pointing fingers at citizens for the flooded streets. With knee-deep and waist-deep water making its way into houses and shops, and even washing away vehicles, it’s clear that something needs to change.
The municipal commissioner is on top of things, promising to correct the anomalies that have led to the flooding. Construction along nullahs, encroachments, and lack of maintenance of rainwater drains are all contributing factors. But fear not, steps are being taken to address the situation.
In an effort to improve coordination during heavy rains, deputy municipal commissioners will now have night duty in the Disaster Management Cell. This move aims to ensure swift response to areas where flooding worsens. So next time the rains hit Pune, rest assured that the civic machinery is ready to tackle the challenges head-on.
