The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has given the green light to transfer government-owned properties in Uruli Devachi and Phursungi to the newly formed Nagar Parishad, as per a directive from the state government.
These areas were previously under the jurisdiction of the Zilla Parishad but were brought under PMC control in 2017. With the formation of a separate Nagar Parishad for Uruli Devachi and Phursungi, the properties will now be managed by the new council.
The transfer will take place in three phases: immediate transfer of properties acquired during the villages’ merger with PMC, handover of land reserved for civic services and roads, and transfer of properties currently housing PMC’s civic service centers to the Nagar Parishad administration.
This move is expected to streamline governance and improve local development in Uruli Devachi and Phursungi.
