Hey there, Pune peeps! It’s time to talk about a serious issue that’s been uncovered in our city’s hospitals. Remember that tragic Delhi hospital fire that took the lives of seven innocent children back in May? Well, it prompted the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to take a closer look at fire safety measures in our own healthcare facilities.

And the results are pretty alarming, to say the least. Out of the 623 hospitals in our city, only 56 have proper fire extinguishing systems in place. That’s a shockingly low number, considering the potential risks involved in such a critical area.

Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh wasted no time in ordering a review of fire safety measures after the Delhi incident. And it’s clear that many hospitals are falling short when it comes to keeping their patients and staff safe from fire hazards.

Deputy Commissioner of the Fire Department, Manoj Lonkar, is not messing around either. He’s made it clear that hospitals need to step up their game when it comes to fire safety. Otherwise, their licenses could be at risk.

So, to all the hospitals out there who have received notices about their lack of compliance, it’s time to take action. Let’s make sure our healthcare facilities are equipped to handle any emergency that comes their way.

Until next time, stay safe and stay informed, Pune!
