Hey Pune peeps! Get ready for a groundbreaking event happening on June 21st – the “Canvas of Nature” vitiligo fashion show hosted by the Shweta Association in honor of World Vitiligo Day. Dr. Maya Tulpule, a General Surgeon, spilled the beans at a recent press conference, joined by Dr. Garima Bhalla from the School of Fashion Technology and Dermatologist Dr. Mukta Tulpule Dani.

Dr. Tulpule has been a champion for the vitiligo community for over 20 years, striving to integrate them into society. Shweta Association was created to provide a supportive platform for individuals with vitiligo, allowing them to share experiences and learn about the disorder. They also offer counseling sessions, support research, and even have a matrimonial site for those with vitiligo.

The fashion show will feature 23 individuals with vitiligo strutting their stuff on the runway. Fashion show director Chaitanya Gokhale is training them, while SOFT Pune is providing the costumes and beauty therapist Leena Khandekar is handling the makeup and hair. It’s all coming together thanks to the hard work of Dr. Tulpule Dani, Mona Devsthali, and Rajat Singh from Shweta Association.

And here’s the best part – the event is open to all and completely free! So mark your calendars and come show your support for the vitiligo community at PYC Deccan Gymkhana on Bhandarkar Road. Let’s celebrate diversity and spread the message that everyone deserves respect and dignity, regardless of their skin color.
