Hey Pune peeps, get ready for some exciting news! The Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Express is all set to start running from September 15, after getting the green light from the Railway Board. This train is going to be the latest addition to the Vande Bharat Express fleet, with eight coaches ready to roll.

For those wondering about the route, the train will make stops at Dharwad, Belgaum, Kolhapur, Miraj, Sangli, Satara, and Karad stations. The grand inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place at Pune station at 11.45 am, and guess what? Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will be flagging off the train via video conference.

Although Punekars have been eagerly awaiting the Vande Bharat Express for almost two years, it’s worth noting that this train will be under the Hubli division, not Pune. So, the maintenance responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the Hubli department, ensuring that the coaches are squeaky clean for your journey.

The Vande Bharat Express will kick off from Hubli station at 5 am, reaching Pune by 4 pm. On the return trip, the train will depart from Pune at 4.45 pm, arriving in Hubli by 1.50 am. To make travel more convenient, the train will stop at Kolhapur every other day on the way to Pune, but will zip straight through on the return leg via Miraj.

While the speed of the Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Express is set at 110 km per hour, it’s expected to hit that speed only in certain stretches. Between smaller stations in the Pune to Satara section, the train will cruise at a leisurely 55 km per hour.

Indu Dubey, the Divisional Railway Manager in Pune, shared that this new train will improve connectivity between Pune and Hubli. With stops at key stations like Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, and Karad, passengers in the region can look forward to a more convenient travel experience.

So mark your calendars for September 15 and get ready to hop on board the Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Express for a smooth and speedy journey between these two vibrant cities!
