- Pune IAS Trainee Cheats UPSC by Changing Names
Puja Khedkar, an OBC trainee IAS officer in Pune, managed to take the UPSC exam 12 times despite being allowed only 9 attempts. She did this by changing her name, as well as her father’s and mother’s names, for different attempts. - Misconduct Leads to Disqualification
Khedkar’s misconduct extended to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, where she received eight memos. Due to her deliberate misrepresentation during training, she has been permanently disqualified from appearing in the UPSC exam. - Multiple Name Changes
Khedkar used different names for herself, her father, and her mother in order to appear in the exam multiple times. For example, she appeared as Khedkar Puja Diliprao and Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar. - Non-Criminal Certificate Benefit
Questions have been raised about Khedkar’s eligibility, as her father retired as a Class 1 officer with an income likely above 8 lakhs. Additionally, Khedkar’s selection as an IAS officer was from the specially-disabled category. - State Government Concludes Misconduct
The state government’s report has found Khedkar unfit to serve as an IAS officer due to her serious misconduct.
