Hey there Pune peeps! If you’re planning on heading to the Peth areas during Ganesh Utsav, you might want to rethink your transportation plans. Why, you ask? Well, it turns out heavy vehicles are a big no-no in those parts from the 5th to the 18th of September.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende is cracking down on traffic violations and has issued a strict ban on heavy vehicles in the Peth areas. So, if you’re driving a big truck full of goods, you better keep it outside the city limits. Instead, transfer your materials to smaller vehicles for easy transport into the centre.

And just to be clear, heavy vehicle drivers, please stay away from the following roads and areas: Lal Bahadur Shastri Road, Sena Dutt Police Chowky to Alka Talkies, Tilak Road, Jedhe Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk, and many more. Basically, if you see Alka Talkies, you’re in the danger zone for heavy vehicles.

So, let’s all do our part to keep Pune’s cultural heritage intact and traffic-free during this festive season. Stay safe on the roads, folks!
