The recent meeting led by CM Fadnavis saw several key infrastructure projects receiving financial approval, including a whopping ₹636.84 crore for road networks connecting the proposed Purandar airport. Additionally, ₹203 crore was sanctioned for cement roads in industrial zones, and ₹1,526 crore was designated for the ‘Urban Growth Center’ road network.

Fadnavis emphasized the importance of seamless connectivity between various road networks and instructed officials to plan 18-meter-wide roads in new urban areas. He also stressed the need for urban development authorities to expedite water supply projects, enhance digital services, and keep development charges affordable for residents.

In terms of public transport, the Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation (PMTC) will receive additional CNG buses to expand its fleet. The administration has also requested 500 additional buses to meet the growing demand for public transport in the city.

Regional development initiatives were also discussed, with directives given for assessing the feasibility of various projects in Nagpur and Nashik. Authorities were urged to focus on improving industrial and tourism connectivity through well-structured road networks and development projects.

Overall, the decisions taken in the meeting are expected to boost Pune’s connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and accelerate regional urban development. Attendees at the meeting included Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Higher & Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and other senior officials from urban development authorities.
