Hey Pune folks! Looks like JM Road, once known for its smooth ride, is now making headlines for all the wrong reasons. A massive pothole has appeared on the road, raising serious concerns about the quality of construction work done by the Pune Municipal Corporation.
The pothole, caused by the collapse of rainwater drains that were installed just two years ago at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, has left the authorities scrambling to fix the issue. The Road Department discovered that the soil beneath the road had eroded by over five feet, creating a dangerous situation that needed immediate attention.
Props to Prashant Kanojia for bringing this issue to light. While passing by Hotel Shubham on JM Road, he noticed the alarming cracks and the potential danger posed by the pothole. His quick action in alerting the Municipal Corporation officials led to urgent repairs being initiated.
The repair team found that the rainwater drainage system beneath the road had collapsed, leading to the creation of the massive pothole. Barricades were put up to prevent any accidents, and repair work is now underway to fix the situation.
It’s worth noting that the Pune Municipal Corporation had recently undertaken projects on JM Road to manage monsoon floods, including the installation of larger drains. However, the collapse of the drainage system has raised questions about the quality of this work.
Let’s hope that the repairs are done swiftly and efficiently so that JM Road can regain its reputation as a smooth and pothole-free route for Pune residents. Stay safe out there!
