The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is cracking down on alleged overcharging and service irregularities at Krishna Diagnostics Centre located at Kamla Nehru Hospital. The centre, which aims to provide affordable healthcare services to economically weaker citizens, is facing scrutiny after complaints of violating agreed-upon rates and service standards surfaced.
Medical Officer Sanjeev Wavare confirmed that the PMC’s Health Department took action in response to multiple patient complaints. The notice issued to Krishna Diagnostics demands an explanation for the alleged discrepancies in their services.
PMC has a history of outsourcing healthcare services to private organisations like Krishna Diagnostics, with the intention of providing quality healthcare to residents. However, strict supervision by the municipal health department is in place to ensure that these services adhere to regulations and standards.
