Hey there, Pune folks! Looks like there’s some important news regarding the water discharge from the Panshet and Khadakwasla dams that you need to know about.

So, as of 4:00 am today, the water discharge from the Panshet dam spillway has been bumped up to 15,136 cusecs due to the rising water levels and heavy rainfall in the area. And guess what? The Sub Divisional Engineer of the Mutha Canal Irrigation Sub-Division in Pune mentioned that this discharge rate might change depending on future rainfall and water availability.

And that’s not all! The Khadakwasla dam spillway is also getting in on the action. The discharge into the Mutha river basin is going up from 18,491 cusecs to 22,880 cusecs at 9:00 am. This adjustment is all thanks to the ongoing heavy rains. The authorities are keeping a close eye on things and might tweak the discharge rate even more based on the weather conditions.

If you live in areas downstream of these dams, make sure to keep an eye on the water levels and listen out for any advisories from the local authorities. Safety first, right? Stay safe, Pune!
