Hey Pune peeps, some drama is unfolding at Vishrantwadi Chowk! The flyover work there had some people worried that it would mess with the Metro project, but fear not – MahaMetro says there will be plenty of room for Metro pillars. So no need to stress about any construction roadblocks!

The city is getting a much-needed flyover and subway at Mukundrao Ambedkar Chowk to help ease traffic congestion. The groundbreaking ceremony for these projects happened just before the Lok Sabha elections, and a Metro route is also planned to pass through the same area.

But hold up, former Deputy Mayor Dr. Siddharth Dhende and former corporator Anil Tingre weren’t too happy about the space situation. They raised concerns that the flyover and subway works would leave no room for the Metro project. Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol even stepped in and called for a pause on the construction to address these objections.

After some back and forth, the PMC’s Project Department sent over the plans to MahaMetro for a double check. And guess what? Turns out, there will be enough space at the chowk for the Metro pillars to go up without any issues.

So, it looks like everything’s back on track and the construction at Vishrantwadi Chowk can continue without any worries about the Metro project being affected. Phew, crisis averted!
