Hey Pune peeps, buckle up because cybercrime is on the rise in our city! Pune Police recently dropped some shocking stats on us, revealing a major increase in financial fraud through cybercrime in the past year. And let me tell you, one case in particular is truly alarming.

So, there’s this guy named Lakhoba Lokhande, operating under the alias Feroz Shaikh, who has been playing some serious mind games with unsuspecting women. This dude conned over 25 women through a fake marriage proposal scheme – yep, you heard that right. He’d contact these women on a marriage matching website, promise them the world, and then swindle them out of their money and jewelry.

One victim spilled the beans and told the cops that Lokhande took ₹1,69,000 from her and nicked jewelry worth a whopping ₹8,25,000. And get this – when the topic of marriage came up, this guy pulled out the big guns and claimed he had a brain tumor to manipulate her even more. Talk about low blows!

Thankfully, one brave soul had the guts to step up and file a complaint with the Kolhapur Police. Lokhande was nabbed and is now facing the music for his shady deeds. Moral of the story? Stay vigilant, Pune, because you never know who might be lurking in the shadows of the internet, ready to scam you. Stay safe out there!
