With the upcoming Ganesh Visarjan procession in Pune, authorities have put in place several measures to ensure the safety and well-being of devotees. In addition to the presence of emergency medical assistance teams at various points along the procession route, a fleet of 23 ambulances will be on standby. These ambulances, operated by Maharashtra Emergency Services Department and Bharat Vikas Group (BVG), will be ready to provide medical assistance if needed.

A notable development this year is the establishment of a three-bed intensive care unit at Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Mandir. This facility will have a team of medical professionals available 24/7 to attend to any medical emergencies that may arise during the procession.

Dr. Nina Borade, who is overseeing the medical arrangements, has emphasized the importance of these measures in ensuring the safety of devotees. The Health Department has also issued guidelines to be followed during the procession, including maintaining noise levels below 75 decibels, keeping a distance between teams, avoiding the use of laser lights, and giving priority to ambulances.

With these preparations in place, devotees can take part in the Ganesh Visarjan procession with confidence, knowing that medical help is readily available if needed.
