Hey Pune peeps, have you hopped on the Pune Metro yet? Since its launch by PM Modi, it’s been smooth sailing for lakhs of commuters, thanks to its safe and timely services. And on Good Governance Day, Education Minister Chandrakant Patil promised full state support for the next phase of expansion.

Patil recently checked out the metro’s operations and got the lowdown from MahaMetro MD Shravan Hardikar on how they’re boosting ridership and services. He even took a ride from District Court to Mandai, where he met up with local MLA Hemant Rasne.

Exciting news – the first phase of metro extension is in the works! The PCMC-Nigdi route tender is done, work has started, and the Swargate-Katraj route is almost ready to roll. And get this, the second phase includes seven new lines, with some routes waiting for central govt approval.

Here’s a sneak peek at the proposed routes:
– Vanaz to Chandni Chowk
– Ramwadi to Wagholi/Vitthalwadi
– Khadakwasla-Swargate-Hadapsar-Kharadi
– SNDT-Warje-Manikbagh

And we’re not stopping there – plans for routes from Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar to Saswad are in the works too. Plus, there’s a big project report in the pipeline for the Nigdi-Mukai Chowk-Wakad-Nashik Phata-Chakan route.

With Phase I going strong and Phase II on the horizon, Pune Metro is gearing up to revolutionize public transport in the city. Get ready for more efficient and eco-friendly travel options, Pune!
