Hey Pune folks, have you heard about the latest buzz surrounding Pune Metro? Well, if you haven’t, let me fill you in on the exciting news!

Since the launch of the Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi route back in March, Pune Metro has been experiencing a massive increase in its passenger numbers. In fact, from July 1 to July 31, the service recorded a whopping 31,20,293 passengers, with an average of 106,101 daily commuters. And guess what? This surge in passengers has translated into a significant income of Rs. 4,98,04,817 for Pune Metro.

Now, let’s dive into some interesting stats. The Purple Line 1 (PCMC to District Court) saw a total of 1,070,655 passengers, while the Aqua Line 2 (Vanaz to Ramwadi) recorded a higher count of 2,049,638 passengers. Looks like the Vanaz-Ramwadi route is the crowd favorite!

And hey, have you heard about the “One Pune Card”? This nifty card has been a hit among commuters, with a total of 53,025 cards sold so far, including 11,646 student cards. And speaking of students, the Pune Metro Vidyarthi Pass offers a sweet 30% discount on fares, making it a hit among the younger crowd.

With 24 stations currently in operation, some stations are definitely more popular than others. PCMC Station takes the lead with around 14,000 passengers per day, followed by Ramwadi Station with 11,000 passengers and Pune Railway Metro Station with 8,000 passengers. And let’s not forget about the District Court Interchange Metro Station, where approximately 24,878 passengers transfer between the Purple and Aqua Lines daily.

But wait, there’s more! The collaboration between Pune Metro and PMPML has introduced feeder bus services on 13 routes, catering to over 10,000 passengers daily. The feeder service from Ramwadi Station to the airport is a hit with over 400 passengers daily, while the route to EON IT Park serves over 1,000 passengers.

In a statement, Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of Maha Metro, expressed his excitement over the increasing passenger numbers. He mentioned the positive response to the One Pune Card and the feeder services, highlighting the efforts to expand these services to more routes.

Overall, Pune Metro’s expansion and the growing number of commuters are a testament to its increasing importance in Pune’s public transportation network. Looks like Pune Metro is on the right track to becoming a key player in the city’s transportation scene!
