Hey there, Pune folks! Brace yourselves for some news on your daily glass of milk. The Milk Producers and Processing Welfare Association recently made a unanimous decision to hike milk prices by ₹2 per liter. This decision was made during a meeting held at Katraj Dairy on Wednesday, which was attended by 47 representatives from various milk unions.
The discussion mainly revolved around the issue of adulteration in paneer and the need for awareness campaigns to tackle this problem. The association also plans to push for pending subsidies for dairy farmers and demand strict action against those involved in milk adulteration from government officials.
The meeting was chaired by Gopalrao Mhaske and attended by notable figures such as Prakash Kutwal, Ranjitsingh Deshmukh, Shripad Chitale, and Swapnil Dhamdhere. The decision to increase prices was made to support dairy farmers in light of rising production costs, with the new prices coming into effect from 15th March.
So, get ready to shell out a bit more for your milk, with cow’s milk now priced at ₹56-₹58 per liter and buffalo’s milk at ₹72-₹74 per liter. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
