Hey Pune peeps! Let’s catch up on the latest news buzzing in our city. Remember the tragic incident in Kalyani Nagar where two young IT engineers lost their lives due to a minor driving a Porsche while intoxicated? Well, there have been some significant updates since then.

Initially, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) imposed minor disciplinary actions on the accused, including writing a 300-word essay and granting bail. But hold on, the decision didn’t sit well with the public. National outrage and criticism led to the JJB revoking the minor’s bail and placing him in a Remand Home.

Fast forward to today, the Bombay High Court has now granted bail to the minor. The 300-word essay, one of the original punishments, has been completed and submitted. Other penalties are also in the process of being fulfilled.

The case took a twist when it was revealed that the minor’s influential family tried to shield him from consequences. They tampered with his blood sample at Sassoon General Hospital to hide alcohol traces and even pressured their family driver to take the blame. As a result, the police have arrested the minor’s grandfather, father, and mother in connection with the case.

Initially, the minor was also ordered to undergo drug addiction counseling and learn about traffic rules at the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO). After about 45 days, he has finally submitted the essay and is working on fulfilling the remaining requirements.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story. Stay safe on the roads, Pune!
