As the Ganeshotsav festival approaches in Pune, several Ganesha mandals have come under fire for causing road damage while setting up Mandap structures. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been inundated with complaints from citizens about the pits dug by these mandals.

In response to the complaints, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale has issued a stern warning to the mandals. He made it clear that it is the responsibility of the mandals to restore the roads after their preparations. Failure to do so could lead to serious consequences, including legal action and the revocation of permissions granted by the municipality.

This warning comes at a time when the city is already dealing with numerous potholes due to heavy rains. Dr. Bhosale has directed the road department to launch a special campaign to repair the potholes before Ganesh Chaturthi and Anant Chaturdashi.

“With the city roads in such poor condition, we will take immediate action to address the potholes as soon as the rain subsides. A special drive will be conducted before Ganesh Chaturthi and another before Anant Chaturdashi to ensure the roads are safe and navigable,” said Dr. Bhosale.

The PMC is committed to ensuring that the roads are fully repaired once the monsoon season ends. Stay tuned for updates on the road repair campaign in Pune!
