1. Health inspectors in Kothrud, Karan Kumbhar and Vaijinath Gaikwad, recently made a shocking discovery during an inspection – biomedical waste dumped in the area.
2. After investigating the waste, the inspectors were able to track down the person responsible for the illegal dumping.
3. The offender initially refused to pay the fine, citing being out of town as an excuse.
4. However, officials warned of a potential police complaint for endangering public health, which prompted the individual to pay the ₹5,000 penalty online.
5. The entire operation was supervised by Circle Deputy Commissioner Avinash Sapkal, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kadam, Assistant Commissioner Vijay Naykal, and Senior Health Inspector Ram Sonawane.
