Hey there Pune peeps! Looks like the central online system for birth and death registrations is on the fritz, causing a delay in getting those all-important certificates from the PMC. The Health Department is working hard to fix the technical issues, but in the meantime, they’re asking for your patience and cooperation.
Back in the day, before 2019, the PMC handled all birth and death certificates themselves. But now, everything goes through the Civil Registration System (CRS) of the central government. It’s supposed to make things more streamlined, but lately, it’s been causing more headaches than anything else.
Recently, there have been some changes to the system that are causing even more trouble. Now, you can’t just stroll into any old ward office to get your certificate. Nope, you have to go to the specific office that covers the area where the birth or death happened. And to top it all off, the system has been glitchy, with servers going down and operations running at a snail’s pace.
The PMC is in touch with all the bigwigs – District Registrar, District Health Officer, State Deputy Director, Deputy Chief Registrar – you name it, they’re on it. But until they can get everything sorted out, there’s going to be a delay in getting those certificates out. So, if you’re waiting on yours, hang tight and give them a hand by being patient.
Neena Borade and Dr. Manisha Naik from the Health Department are leading the charge and asking for your understanding. So let’s all work together to get through this little technical hiccup, Pune!
