1. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is cracking down on property tax defaulters in the city. Recently, teams from the PMC conducted operations across 15 regional offices, visiting a total of 154 properties with pending dues. During the drive, they were able to recover a whopping ₹37.8 crore in unpaid taxes. On top of that, 19 properties were sealed as part of the enforcement action.
  2. With nearly 14.8 lakh properties under its jurisdiction, the PMC has been able to collect a significant amount of taxes from property owners. Out of this massive number, 8.73 lakh property owners have already paid a total of ₹1,798 crore in taxes. However, there are still a large number of defaulters who will soon face further recovery actions if they do not clear their dues promptly.
  3. Madhav Jagtap, the head of the Tax Assessment and Collection Department at PMC, has emphasized the importance of property owners making timely payments to avoid penalties or legal actions. The PMC is urging those who have not yet settled their dues to do so as soon as possible to avoid any unpleasant consequences.

So, if you’re a property owner in Pune with outstanding tax dues, it’s time to take action and ensure that you are in compliance with the PMC’s regulations. Don’t wait until it’s too late – make those payments and avoid any unnecessary trouble.
