Hey Pune folks, great news for all you road warriors out there! The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has just announced that 90% of the road repair works under ‘Mission 15’ have been completed. This mission was launched to improve traffic flow in our city, and it looks like we’re well on our way to smoother rides ahead.

The Road Department has made it clear that no more digging permissions will be granted on these newly repaired roads, so let’s hope they stay in top shape for a while. The project covered a whopping 92 kilometres of roads, with over 60,000 square meters of asphalting completed. That’s a whole lot of asphalt – approximately 11,000 metric tons to be exact!

Thermoplastic paint was used at important intersections for better durability, so hopefully, we won’t have to deal with fading lines anytime soon. Chief Engineer (Road) Aniruddha Pawaskar mentioned that these repairs will reduce traffic delays and provide relief to motorists. It’s about time, right?

The PMC scraped and resurfaced roads, repaired and painted footpaths, fixed drainage chambers, and even removed those pesky speed breakers causing traffic congestion. The Road Department and Pune Traffic Police teamed up to survey the roads and identify obstacles to traffic flow. They even levelled 509 drainage chamber covers to prevent accidents and keep us all safe.

So far, 15 major roads like Nagar Road, Solapur Road, and Karve Road have been completed in the first phase of the project. The remaining 17 roads will be tackled in the second phase, so hang tight for more improvements on the way. This initiative is a game-changer for Pune, addressing long-standing issues of poor road conditions and traffic congestion. Here’s to smoother rides and safer roads ahead!
