Are you ready for some good news, Pune folks? The delayed recruitment process of 100 junior engineers in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is finally set to resume soon! And here’s the twist – Maratha candidates holding the Kunbi caste certificate will now have the opportunity to apply through the OBC category, thanks to a decision made by the State Government.

The recruitment process for these junior engineers had started before the Lok Sabha elections, with applications being sought from interested candidates. However, the issue of Maratha candidates holding the Kunbi caste certificate applying through the OBC category had caused a delay in the recruitment process. But now, with the elections over, things are finally moving forward.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP has confirmed that discussions have been held with IPBS regarding the recruitment test for engineers. He mentioned, “The State Government order allows Maratha candidates holding the Kunbi caste certificate to be recruited through the OBC category. Additionally, candidates can also apply through the Economically Backward Class (EBC) category.”

So, what’s the next step? Prithviraj BP stated, “We will be publishing a new advertisement for the recruitment of engineers. We will also have to address the applications and fees received earlier. The technical process will be completed by January 15, after which the recruitment advertisement will be published.”

Exciting times ahead for aspiring junior engineers in Pune! Stay tuned for more updates.
