1. The untreated water pumping station in Waki village near Wada, approved by PCMC, is well on its way to completion, with 65% of the work already done. Once finished, the station will be able to supply a whopping 167 million liters of water daily to the city.
  2. Progress is also being made on the 1700 mm diameter rising main pipeline, which will stretch 7.30 km from the pumping station in Waki village to the break pressure tank in Talegaon. Currently, 2.80 km of the pipeline has been completed, with more work underway.
  3. The preliminary work for the break pressure tank at Talegaon has been completed, including soil testing and structural design. Construction on the tank is set to begin soon to ensure smooth water transportation from the pumping station.
  4. The gravity main pipeline, which will be 18.80 km long and 1400 mm in diameter, is also progressing well. 8.40 km of the pipeline has been finished, with the remaining work ongoing. This pipeline will carry water from the break pressure tank in Talegaon to the water treatment plant in Chikhali.
  5. Commissioner & Administrator of PCMC, Shekhar Singh, expressed the commitment of the corporation to provide ample water supply to the residents through the Bhama Askhed Dam Water Supply Scheme projects. Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil reiterated that the projects are on track for timely completion.
  6. Chief Engineer Pramod Ombhase of PCMC’s Water Supply Department highlighted that efforts are being made to ensure a daily supply of 267 MLD of water to the city’s residents. The Andra Dam Water Supply Scheme’s first phase is already operational, and the Bhama Askhed Water Supply Scheme will add an additional 167 MLD once fully operational.
