The Art of Living Pune, with its impressive 950 teachers and 5 lakh members, has set out on a mission to reach a staggering 40 lakh people through social media. This campaign is gaining momentum as Pune Hotels Association president Amit Kumar Sharma has announced that all 74 member hotels will be offering a 10% discount across Pune, in addition to staff members pledging to vote in the upcoming elections.
Not stopping there, CREDAI Pune Metro, under the leadership of President Ranjeet Naiknavare, is mobilizing its 500 members, 50,000 employees, and vast customer base to encourage voting. The efforts are being further amplified by senior citizen groups, women’s groups, laughter clubs, and housing societies who have joined the cause.
Suhas Patwardhan from the Pune District Housing Society and Apartment Federation shared that they have been working tirelessly for the past three months to increase senior citizen voting in cooperative housing societies. To create excitement around voting, these organizations are setting up selfie points at voting locations, establishing war rooms at the society level, and organizing poster competitions.
The citizens of Pune are being urged to actively participate in this grand democratic festival and make their voices heard. With all these collective efforts, Pune is hoping to combat the recent apathy towards voting and boost the voter turnout. Will these initiatives be successful in making a difference? Only time will tell.
