In a shocking incident in Pune, a BJP worker was reportedly threatened with a revolver and warned of being killed over a contract dispute with the Pune Municipal Corporation’s sewerage department. The incident took place in Ganj Peth and has led to a case being registered against a junior engineer from the sewerage department and his brother.

The case was filed against Ganesh Rajendra Gite, the junior engineer, and his brother Mahesh Gite, both residents of Kirad Galli, Bhawani Peth. The complaint was lodged by BJP activist Nirmal Motilal Harihar, who resides near Mangal Club Mitra Mandal in Ganj Peth.

According to reports, Nirmal Harihar, a contractor for the Municipal Corporation, was on his way to a BJP executive meeting when he was allegedly confronted by Ganesh Gite and his brother Mahesh. Ganesh Gite reportedly threatened Harihar with a revolver, accusing him of involvement in a tender worth ten crore rupees and threatening to kill him.

Authorities including DCP Sandeep Singh Gill, ACP Machhindra Khade, Senior Police Inspector Vishwajit Kaingde, and Inspector (Crime) Santosh Khetmalas quickly responded to the incident. ACP Khade is currently leading the investigation into the case.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of individuals involved in contract disputes with government departments and highlights the need for swift and effective action to ensure justice is served.
