If you are a resident of one of the newly included villages in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), you might be interested to know that the Maharashtra State Government will be deciding on the property tax for these areas in January. This decision comes after a recent meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, where the challenges faced by these villages were discussed.

One of the main issues highlighted during the meeting was the halt in property tax collection from these villages, which has impacted PMC’s revenue and its ability to provide necessary services. However, Ajit Pawar has assured that a meeting next month will focus on resolving this issue and also discussed the possibility of sharing GST paid by residents of these villages with PMC.

In addition to addressing revenue concerns, plans for road development and traffic management in these villages were also discussed during the meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has suggested allocating more funds for road development in the upcoming PMC budget and completing road projects in one phase to tackle the traffic congestion issue in Pune.

To ensure comprehensive coordination in addressing traffic congestion, a meeting involving various agencies such as PMC, PCMC, PMRDA, Pune Metro, PMPML, Traffic Police, and others is scheduled for next week. Plans will also be discussed at the ward office level to effectively address traffic issues in these villages.

Despite the announcement of Uruli Devachi and Phursungi as Nagar Parishads among the newly included villages, these Parishads have not been established yet, leaving PMC without revenue from these areas. However, residents have expressed their concerns and urged PMC to continue addressing their needs until the Nagar Parishads are formally established.

Overall, it seems like there are some significant developments in store for the newly included villages in the Pune Municipal Corporation, with discussions on property tax, road development, and traffic management underway to address the challenges faced by these areas. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving situation!
