Pune witnessed yet another unfortunate incident as a PMPML bus was engulfed in flames near DIAT on the Pune-Panshet road. The bus, which had left Swargate and was heading towards Khanapur, caught fire while in motion. Thanks to the quick thinking of the driver and conductor, all passengers were safely evacuated before the bus was completely consumed by the fire.

The fire brigade was promptly alerted, and with the combined efforts of PMRDA and NDA fire department personnel, the blaze was brought under control after 30 minutes of intense firefighting. This incident marks the second time in less than a year that a PMPML bus has caught fire in the same area.

The bus, previously used for Pune Darshan tours, had been experiencing mechanical issues and was reportedly moving at a slow pace before the fire broke out. Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the vehicle before it erupted into flames. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, and traffic on the road was able to resume after the fire was extinguished.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and looking into potential safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future. This serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and safety checks for all public transport vehicles to ensure the well-being of passengers and drivers alike.
