- Two individuals, identified as Sumit alias Diamond Raju Asaware (19) and Abhishek Bharat Khandare (22), both residents of Kothrud, were arrested by Alankar Police in Pune for robbing a man at sword-point while he was jogging on DP Road in Erandwane.
- The stolen items, valued at Rs 2.86 lakh, were recovered by the police, which included a sword, a motorcycle, two gold chains, and a pendant.
- The incident took place a week ago on DP Road when the victim, a resident of Shaniwar Peth, was threatened with a sword and had his gold chain stolen by the suspects, who then fled on a motorcycle along with an accomplice who is still at large.
- Alankar Police conducted a swift investigation after the robbery, analyzing CCTV footage from various areas in Pune, leading to the arrest of Asaware and Khandare.
- The operation was supervised by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sinhagad Road Division) Ajay Parmar, with Senior Police Inspector Sunita Rokade and Police Inspector (Crime) Anil Mane leading the team.
- Authorities are currently searching for the third accomplice involved in the robbery, bringing relief to local residents who were worried about their safety following the incident on a popular jogging route.
