Fake currency alert in Pune! The Sahakar Nagar Police Station has uncovered a stash of counterfeit ₹500 notes, amounting to a total of ₹1,25,000. The operation was carried out in the Padmavati area, leading to the arrest of a 33-year-old man named Nilesh Hiranand Veerkar from Pimpri Chinchwad.

Veerkar was caught red-handed by police constables Amol Pawar and Mahesh Mandlik during their patrol in the Padmavati area. Acting suspiciously, Veerkar was stopped for questioning and upon searching him, the police found 250 fake ₹500 notes in his possession. As a result, Veerkar has been taken into custody and a case has been registered against him.

The authorities are currently investigating the source of the counterfeit notes to prevent further circulation of fake currency in the area.
