As Pune gears up for the New Year celebrations, the Pune Police have laid out a detailed plan to ensure safety and order in the city. With popular spots like Pune Camp, FC Road, and JM Road expected to be packed with revelers, the police are leaving no stone unturned to tackle potential challenges.

Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar revealed that a total of 3,000 police personnel, including 700 traffic officers, will be deployed across the city to maintain law and order. Areas like MG Road and Jungli Maharaj Road will have increased surveillance to manage the large crowds.

To address the issue of drunk driving, the police have identified 23 hotspots where special patrols and checkpoints will be set up. In addition, efforts will be made to ensure smooth traffic flow and crack down on reckless driving.

In a bid to regulate New Year celebrations, 40 private venues have obtained permission from the police to host events. These establishments, which include pubs, restaurants, and event spaces, have been instructed to strictly adhere to safety guidelines. Any violations, such as serving alcohol to minors, will result in severe penalties, including license cancellation.

Commissioner Kumar emphasized the importance of celebrating responsibly and following the rules to ensure a safe environment for all citizens. By working together, everyone can enjoy the festivities without compromising on safety.
