Hey folks, today we’ve got some breaking news from Pune – the Pune Police have busted a fake bail surety racket! Yep, you heard that right. A total of 11 individuals, including two lawyers, have been arrested in connection with this shady operation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Rajkumar Shinde of Zone 5 was the mastermind behind this operation, which uncovered a network providing fake documents and sureties to help criminals get bail. And guess what? The key arrests include lawyers Adv. Aslam Gafoor Syed and Adv. Suresh Jadhav. These guys were allegedly cooking up fake documents like Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and 7/12 extracts to help their clients secure bail.
The gang targeted relatives of inmates at Yerawada Central Jail who were struggling to come up with legitimate sureties. The police first caught wind of this scam when they arrested some individuals posing as fake sureties in court. After a thorough investigation, they managed to nab several more culprits, including the main accused, Farhan alias Bablu Sheikh, who is currently on the run.
The fake sureties were reportedly from Mumbai, Thane, and rural areas, enticed by the promise of easy money. So far, the police have uncovered 24 cases involving fake sureties and have seized a bunch of fake documents, mobile phones, and even two-wheelers from the accused.
Kudos to DCP Shinde and his team for cracking down on this racket! It just goes to show that crime doesn’t pay – at least not when the Pune Police are on the case. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
