If you’re in the Aundh area of Pune, you might have heard about the recent raid on a massage parlour that led to the rescue of nine women, four of whom were from Thailand. It turns out that these women were allegedly forced into prostitution, and now four individuals, including the owner of the massage parlour, are facing a case against them.
The massage parlour, located in the Murkute Plaza building, was reportedly a front for a prostitution racket. Thanks to a tip-off received by Police Inspector Ajay Waghmare of Crime Branch Unit Four, a team was sent to investigate the premises and found the women who had been lured into this illegal operation with promises of money.
The Chatushrungi Police Station has taken action against the accused under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. The owner and manager of the massage parlour are believed to have been running this illegal business under the guise of a legitimate massage service.
This operation wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik. The raiding team, led by Police Inspectors Vijayanand Patil and Ajay Waghmare, along with Assistant Inspector Narendra Patil and Sub-Inspector Vaibhav Magdum, worked tirelessly to rescue these women and bring the perpetrators to justice.
