Hey Pune peeps, looks like the police are cracking down on those using laser lights during Dahi Handi and Ganeshotsav processions. Cases have been filed against six individuals for supplying laser beam equipment. And guess what? Three Ganesh mandals have also been charged for exceeding noise limits.

The names of those charged include some familiar ones like Prabhakar Pawar, Harshad Bhal Singh, Rakesh Chaudhary, Ganesh Yadav, Ajinkya Dhamal, Manoj Jagtap, Mahadev Khapane, Roshan Patil, Ashish Chavan, Aniket Jagtap, and Mohammad Ashiq. Looks like the Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, is serious about this crackdown, ordering strict action against the use of laser lights during these ceremonies.

Reports say that several Ganesh mandals were using sound systems and laser lights during processions, leading to the police stepping in and registering cases. The Mundhwa area seems to be a hotspot for noise violations during Ganeshotsav, with three mandals already charged for exceeding noise limits.

The authorities have issued warnings against using laser beams and high-powered sound systems during the processions. And it looks like the Lohgaon area, with an Air Force base and civil airport, is under extra scrutiny. Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma has banned laser beams in that area due to the risk of accidents.

Seems like the police are really cracking down on these violations, so let’s all be a little more mindful during these festive celebrations!
