Two minor boys have been detained by the Samarth police in connection with the alleged rape of a 13-year-old schoolgirl back in April. Yes, you read that right – April. The incident only came to light recently and has left the community in shock.
But that’s not all – two other boys and a woman are also facing charges for their involvement in the crime. It’s being reported that the victim was forced to consume alcohol and the assault was recorded on video. Absolutely horrifying.
The girl’s father took action and filed a complaint with the Samarth police station, resulting in an FIR being registered under the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act. The two detained boys, aged 16 and 17, have been placed in an observation home by the Juvenile Justice Board.
Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gite provided some insight into the case, revealing that the girl only disclosed the incident to her parents in late August. It turns out she had become friends with the boys through a mutual acquaintance, who played a sinister role in the events that unfolded.
